The Center changes lives.

I strongly believe in the possibility of recovery and rehabilitation for children burdened by the damage caused by childhood trauma. This priority helped me identify organizations that shared my values and the San Diego Center for Children came to the top of my list.

When I was 14 years old, I found myself in a lot of trouble. I ended up in the downtown Los Angeles Juvenile Hall. Not to make any excuses but I had been exposed to a substantial dose of childhood trauma when I was even younger.

I soon found myself living in a residential treatment home which offered the same kinds of programs services as provided by the Center.

In reflecting back, my life was turned around. I am still not sure how such a dramatic change in outlook and behavior could occur, but it did. No doubt it is was a result of participating in the same kinds of therapeutic and educational services that are provided by the Center.

Since then, I have led-what by conventional standards has been- a very successful life. If I can level the playing field, even in a small way, I want to do it. For this reason, my decision to make The San Diego Center for Children a beneficiary of my Trust was easy.
