Media Arts Center

The Media Arts Center of San Diego promotes access to film and video as tools for community self-expression and social change and supports the professional development of media artists.

San Diego Civic Dance Arts Program

Founded in 1942, the Civic Dance Arts Program of the San Diego Park and Recreation Department, has introduced hundreds of thousands of citizens to the art form of dance. Currently, classes are offered at 25 city recreation centers, at affordable prices, (and in some instances with fees waived), enabling children and adults from all economic and cultural backgrounds, full participation in the study of dance. The basics of ballet, jazz, tap, and theater dance technique are stressed for all students.

The City of San Diego Park & Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) program provides sports, recreation, leisure and outreach services to San Diegans with physical, mental and emotional disabilities.

Access and Crisis Line

The Optum Access and Crisis Line (ACL) has been serving the people of San Diego County since 1997. It receives thousands of calls per month related to suicide prevention, crisis intervention, community resources, mental health referrals, and alcohol and drug support services. Confidential and free of charge, the line is immediately answered 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by Master’s-level and Licensed Clinicians. The counselors average 16 years of clinical experience in a variety of backgrounds, including: emotionally disturbed youth, geriatric social services, nursing, in-home domestic violence intervention, case management, and drug and alcohol abuse. Language interpreter services enable the ACL to assist in 150 languages within seconds.

Palomar Health: Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services (Pomerado Hospital)

Provides comprehensive inpatient mental health treatment for adults and seniors with acute psychiatric needs. Provides psychiatric intensive care where up to 72 hours of emergency intervention, treatment, and further evaluation can be provided to stabilize critical psychiatric conditions.
