Career Horizons Program/Just in Time for Foster Youth
The program is designed to help our youth bring their employment options into focus. Through presentations, discussion, job shadowing, and one-on-one connections with powerful female role models, they are given the tools and support to recognize their strengths and include entrepreneurship and non-traditional higher paying fields in their futures. They are also given the opportunity to begin make lasting connections that can build the networks and career links so essential to career success.

YMCA: Independent Living Skills Program
The Independent Living Skills program (ILS) is a county-funded program designed to prepare and assist current and former foster youth through their transition from the foster care system into independence.

New Haven Youth and Family Services: Transitional Living Program
At New Haven, we recognize that many of our aging out youth face limited options that could jeopardize their healthy growth. Our transitional living program helps young men gain necessary independence, resources and work skills. Our homes are in proximity to North County colleges for this program to allow the young men to work, live, and grow in an environment that offers them stability as they continue their journey into adulthood.

San Diego JobCorp
San Diego Job Corps offers career planning, on-the-job training, job placement, residential housing, food service, driver’s education, health and dental care, a bi-weekly basic living allowance, periodic clothing allowances, and an on-center childcare program for single parents as well. The program lasts from 8 months to two years. Clients may participate in transitional living or may live off-site simply use the vocational and educational services. Interested youth must attend a “presentation” to be oriented to the program. Presentations take place at 8:30 am every Wednesday at the address listed.
