8 West/ Urban Street Angels
8 West is a sustainable program with a foundation based on the simple premise of “hope”. When you restore hope, the human spirit becomes indomitable. We not only help homeless youth re-discover what it means to have hope, but the long-term impact of our “homeless to hopeful” model also results in positive, deeply recursive effects throughout the community.

Catalyst (Full Service Partnership)
Catalyst is an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. Catalyst provides full service partnership services to Transitional Age Youth (TAY) ages 16 to 25 with a serious mental illness, and who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in San Diego County. This recovery-focused program is also co-located with a consumer-run clubhouse offering a wide range of services designed to help each participant lead a meaning, self-sufficient life.

Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) coaches partner with unemployed or under-employed San Diegans looking to explore new personal and professional opportunities. Whether you need emergency assistance, help to increase your income, job training, further education, free tax preparation, or guidance finding a new job or career, SAY is here!

YMCA/ YFS Connections 2020
Connections 2020 assists underrepresented young adults (ages 18-24) throughout San Diego by enhancing their relational skills and improving their financial stability. Connections 2020 also offers Relational Wellness and Work Readiness Classes in addition to one-on-one coaching and case management to help participants achieve their goals.

San Diego County Regional Occupational Program
The San Diego County Regional Occupational Program (ROP) provides occupational training courses to help individuals acquire entry level job skills, upgrade or retrain, and/or prepare for advanced technical training. ROP Centers provide information about courses. Services include training in job seeking/keeping skills. Program duration for typical successful client may be up to 1 year.

California Youth Connection
California Youth Connection was founded in 1988 by a group of foster youth and supportive adults to provide a vehicle for California foster youth to learn leadership and advocacy skills and to engage directly with policymakers to improve the foster care system. Founded on the model of youth empowerment, CYC maintains a dual focus on policy and youth development.
CYC is the only organization in California to engage foster youth in the policy making process. Our foster youth leaders have created a fundamental paradigm shift in child welfare policy in California, ensuring that foster youth are at the center of child welfare policymaking for the first time in history.

California Conservation Corps.
The CCC is a state department that puts young people and the environment together for the benefit of both. Corpsmembers are young men and women between the ages of 18-25 (and veterans to age 29) who sign up for a challenging year of service to California, working to improve the state’s natural resources and communities. Young people join from counties statewide. As of 2015, the top five counties from which young people have joined: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Diego, Sacramento, & Fresno # of corpsmember positions in 2015- 16: 1587 serving more than 3,000 young people annually.

Urban Beats
Urban Beats is an innovative artistic expression program for Transitional Age Youth (TAY). Through
creating and delivering artistic productions and TAY-focused social media messaging, Urban Beats aims to enhance self-sufficiency and increase TAY engagement in behavioral health treatment. Urban Beats utilizes strengths identification and artistic self-expression to fight the stigma related to mental illness and promote youth self-empowerment and improve wellness.

STEPS Program, Salvation Army
Provides a comprehensive employment/transitional living program for homeless men. Clients must be alcohol and drug free and be willing to work full-time. Services include one-on-one case management; job-related preparation with accompanying workshops; employment counseling involving interest and aptitude testing, screening, case planning, budgeting, career development, and weekly follow-up for 9 weeks regarding employment retention; and active job development and job search assistance. The transitional housing supportive services include food and clothing, grooming facilities and supplies, and transportation in the form of bus tokens/passes. Referrals for other support services are provided if necessary.
