Golden Hill Certified Farmers Market
The Golden Hill Farmers Market is mainly frequented by locals meaning you’ll get to beat most of the crowds and long lines that are characteristic of some of the other San Diego Farmers markets. The vendors provide basic offerings such as fresh organic and locally grown produce, tasty snacks and meal options such as hummus and pita chips, kombucha, crepes, tamales and grilled meats. Some popular vendors with the locals are those cooking up filipino and New Orleans inspired dishes. There is even a stand geared towards dogs where they sell a lot of treats, making this perfect for a Saturday morning stroll with your dog.
(Open Saturdays from 9:30am -1:30pm)

Chelsea’s Light Foundation: Sunflower Scholarship Fund
The Sunflower Scholarship Fund’s purpose is simple: to find resilient and bright students who tower over others in uniqueness and splendor, who stand out from a crowd, just as a sunflower does. The Fund helps support students in two ways: Academic and “Joie de Vivre” extracurricular scholarships. The Academic scholarships will provide financial support for college enrollment, and the Joie de Vivre or “joy of life” scholarships are designed to enable children with financial need to experience the joy of extracurricular activities that they otherwise couldn’t afford.
